Development authorities should work with new vision and approach

maya13.1.Bhopal, January 13, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan):  Urban Development and Housing Minister Mrs. Maya Singh said that development authorities should work with new vision and good approach as per expectation of public so that they can get appreciation. Also, nobody can point finger on them. Mrs. Singh was inaugurating symposium on working of Madhya Pradesh development authorities. Mrs. Singh said that a prime objective of constitution of authorities was planned development in cities. For that, it is necessary that authorities should play important role in urban development as per master plan. Traffic should systematic and public places be developed, should be focused. She underlined a need of removing shortage of human resources in authorities and SADA and impart training to them. She said that the agencies were constituted to fulfill needs of citizens. Our behaviour should be sensitive and approach should be cooperative. Mrs. Singh said that innovations being done in other states should be studies for making work culture in authorities and SADA. Mrs. Singh said that many times she received complaints that projects begins but people don’t get their benefits on time. It should be paid special attention because any agency’s credit is made or distorted because of this. Mrs Singh said that if development authorities fail to hand over properties in stipulated time to its customers, their rates should not be increased.

She asked to use information technology in functioning. She said that it would provide facility to customers and bring transparency in our works. She asked the agencies to adopt cashless transaction.  Mrs Singh said that authorities should take public representatives in confidence for development schemes. She pointed out need of review of power of delegation and said to avoid court cases and resolve them speedily. She asked to consider practical difficulties of real estate regulation act and its related rules 2013.

Mrs Singh said that discussions and suggestions received in symposium would be executed. Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Mr. Malay Shrivastava put information related with subjects of the symposium and their needs. Chairmen, Chief Executive officers of ten Development Authorities including Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Jabalpur, Singrauli, Ratlam and officials of SADA and officers of town and country planning were present in the symposium.
