Awards to anganwadi workers and officers for improving nutrition level of children
Bhopal, February 12, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Archana Chitnis announced the Deendayal Nutrition Award on the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay today. Mrs. Archana Chitnis said that a special nutrition campaign is being initiated from March 1, 2017 to improve the nutrition level of children who were found to be underweight in the ongoing special weight campaign in the state. Officers-employees and anganwadi workers and assistants will be awarded with the Deendayal Nutrition Award for outstanding performance and completion of their targets. She said that the award is in honour of the officers-employees of the department and anganwadi workers-assistants who not only fulfil their target but follow Panditji’s idea of ‘Antim Pankti me Khade Antim Vyakti ki Seva’. Officers-employees working in all project units at the state level will be awarded. On the project level, the anganwadi sahayikas will be given Rs 5,100 as first prize, Rs 2,100 (second) and Rs 1,100 as third prize. Anganwadi workers on the project level will be awarded with Rs 7,100 as first prize, Rs 3,100 as second prize and Rs 2,100 as third prize. On the district level, the observer will be awarded with Rs 11,000 as first prize, Rs 5,100 as second prize and Rs 2,100 as third prize. On the division level, there is provision of Rs 21,000 as first prize, Rs 11,000 as second prize and Rs 5,100 as third prize for the child development project officer.
The district programme officers on the state level will be given first prize of Rs 51,000, second prize of Rs 31,000 and third prize of Rs 21,000. Besides there will be three consolation prizes of Rs 11,000 each. The selection criteria for the awards will be third party valuation. Based on the valuation, committees formed at different levels of senior officials along with public representatives will select the winners.
