Damoh city will become open defecation free till May 15
Finance Minister Mr. Malayya reviews development works at Damoh
Bhopal, March 26, 2017 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Minister for Finance Mr. Jayant Malayya issued directives to conduct a special campaign for deepening and cleaning works of water sources especially ponds. He said that citizens should not face water problem under any situation. Mr. Malayya was reviewing the potable water arrangements and development works in Damoh today. President Jila Panchayat Mr. Shivcharan Patel was present on the occasion. Mr. Malayya said that telephone numbers should be publicized for hand pump maintenance block wise. It was informed that Satdharu Project costing Rs. 270 crore has been sanctioned in Damoh area. This project will facilitate irrigation in 47 villages of Damoh Janpad and will make additional potable water arrangement for Damoh city. Mr. Malayya reviewed the progress of Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna implemented in the district and preparations of Antodaya Mela to be held on April 12. He stated that houses will be provided to all the eligible beneficiaries of the district at any cost till 2022. Nobody will be spared for irregularities in this project. Cement bag at the rate of Rs. 160 is being provided to the beneficiaries of the district under this scheme. Minister Mr. Malayya apprised himself about Krishi Vikas Mela being organized in the district. He instructed that poly-house should be prepared and farmers should be benefitted block wise. Mr. Malayya also reviewed development works of Damoh city.
It was informed that railway over-bridge construction work will be completed by August this year. Mr. Malayya directed the officials to complete all the works related to ODF (Open Defecation Free) within time. It was informed that 21 wards of Damoh city have become open defecation free. The city will become completely open defecation free till May 15. Also, sanitation at hospitals, electricity availability and development works of Nagarpalika were reviewed in the meeting.
