Coordination meet on targeted PDS topics with cooperative department
Bhopal, April 8, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): Chief Secretary Mr. Basant Pratap Singh presided over a meeting held on targeted Public Distribution System related topics in Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Protection Department. A discussion was held to establish a Common Service Centre (CSC) on the lines of the Gujarat model to financially strengthen fair price shops. The Food Department presented a scheme to make shops multipurpose. In this it was proposed to permit rural shopkeepers to sell branded company goods and of their own choice and sell daily use commodities as per need of the area. Discussion was also held on appointment of sellers at fair price shops, payment of fixed remuneration to sellers for semi-skilled labourers and implementation of cashless system.
