Workshop on good governance and promotion of space technology for development on April 24
Bhopal, April 23, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): State level workshop will be held on April 24 in Bhopal for promotion of good governance in Madhya Pradesh and space technology for development related activities and programmes by Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO). ISRO chairman Mr. AS Kiran Kumar will deliver lecture in inaugural session. Officers of Department of Space Science, directors of different departments of ISRO, Additional Chief Secretaries of different departments, Secretaries of the state government and Collectors will participate in the workshop. The aim of the workshop is to increase awareness among common people at panchayat level on different and wide uses of space technology.Chief Secretary Mr. Basant Pratap Singh will also address the workshop. Two theme-based parallel technical sessions will be held after the opening session. Presentation will be held in the first parallel technical session on developmental planning, agriculture and livelihood centric themes. In the second session, presentation will be held on education, health and public security subjects.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi had emphasised on institutional process for coordination in good governance and applications of space science for development, while addressing special session of national workshop. In this context, Department of Space Technology decided to hold one day workshop in 28 states in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) of Government of India and States’ Remote Sensing Application Centre. Madhya Pradesh is one among 12 states chosen in the first category for this purpose.
