Cold storage, warehouse and ice plants facilities being developed in parks
Bhopal, April 25, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): In order to encourage food processing industries in state, food parks are being developed in phase manner in Mandla, Chhindwara and Mandsaur districts by the Commerce and Industries department. Moreover, employment has been generated through industrial units established in the parks. Food park has been established to encourage agriculture and food processing industries in Industrial area Maneri of Mandla district. Infrastructure like warehouse, cold storage and milk chilling plant has been constructed in this industrial area. A total of 30.354 hectare land has been reserved for the development of food park. About 4 hectare land to 10 units has been allotted till date and out of these, 7 food processing units have commenced production.Similarly, food park is being developed in Borgaon of Chhindwara district. This industrial area is being developed at a distance of 72 k.m. in Sounsar tahsil of Chhindwara near Nagpur. A total of 13.148 hectare land has been allotted to 15 units in the food park. About 22 hectare land has been developed for the food park. Production has been started by 12 units in the park. A sum of Rs. 34 crore has been invested in the park and employment to around 900 persons have been provided in these units.
Moreover, Jaggakhedi food processing park has been developed in 50 acre land in Mandsaur district. Construction of cold storage, ice plant, ware house and testing laboratory building has been completed in the park. Also work related to basic infrastructure for water supply, roads, electricity etc. has been completed on priority. As many as 94 plots have been allotted to 63 units in the park and 29 industries are established in the park. An amount of over Rs. 10 crore has been incurred for development of basic facilities in the park.
