Mr. Shukla at mineral sand marketing process fixation meeting
Bhopal, July 22, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): Mineral Resources Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla said that final shape should be given soon to the recommendations of the workshop for effective and transparent system of marketing and scientific mining of sand from rivers in Madhya Pradesh. Proposals should be set for 15 days to improve the policy. Mr. Shukla was presiding over the committee constituted for mineral sand mining and marketing in state at the Mantralaya today. Mr. Shukla said that there should be a permanent solution relating to the mining of minerals from the Narmada and other rivers. Keeping in mind all the conclusions of the workshop, he said that a transparent policy for mineral sand mining and marketing should be prepared.
The Minister said that keeping all the effective aspects in mind, an integrated report should soon be prepared for sand mining from Narmada river. Mr. Shukla said that a model sand mining policy shop would be formulated in state on the basis of the conclusions of the workshop. He said that other states will also benefit from this. Secretary Mineral Resources Mr. Manohar Dubey gave information about the conclusions of the discussion held in various sessions at the workshop during the meeting.
Principal Secretary Urban Development Mr. Malay Shrivastava, Deputy Secretary Minerals Mr. Rakesh Shrivastava, Professor K. Pathak and Professor Abhijit Mukherji of IIT, Khadagpur (West Bengal), Head of Department Environment Science, Barkatullah University, Bhopal Mr. Pradeep Shrivastava, Director Geology and Mining Mr. V.K. Austin and other officers were also present on the occasion.
