Mou between AAI and State for cheap flight service

arya27.7.17Bhopal, July 27, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan):  A tripartite MoU was signed between Airports Authority of India, state and Government of India for Regional Connectivity Scheme airport to establish regional connectivity in the state under National Civil Aviation Policy issued by the Government of India to boost tourism/industrial activities and to make cheap flight service available for citizens of the state. This information was given during a meeting of the Departmental Consultative Committee held at Vidhan Sabha Parisar chaired by Minister of State for Aviation Mr. Lal Singh Arya. State government is making efforts to develop the Bhopal, Indore and Khajuraho airport to the global level. For this the National Airports Authority has been provided with free land. The Airport which is in the possession of the Authority is being expanded. Night Landing has been made available at Jabalpur Airport with the help of the Authority. Free land has also been made available for expansion of the airport to the Authority.  Taking into account the expansion of activities of commercial and tourism development in the state in the past years, new government air strips have been developed in Seoni, Mandla and Datia. The construction of a new aerodrome with the help of local industrial units in PPP mode in Singrauli district headquarters is going on. Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation is undertaking the work. Government airstrips Dhana (Sagar) and Guna have been allotted on a fixed rate to institutes for pilot training and other aviation activities. This training will provide opportunities for employment in the aviation sector to candidate of the state. A policy has been formed to give government air strips situated in the state for aero-sport activities for three months each. A policy has been fixed to give the state’s government air strips to private investors on development agreement for a period of 15 years through a transparent process with the aim of developing aviation development activities and facilities. The activities include aircraft recycling, helicopter academy and aero sports. An agreement to give Seoni airstrip to Mesco Aerospace Limited has already been made. RFP has been issued for allotting airstrips to willing institutes for pilot/ engineering training activities.
