Farmer welfare minister Mr. Bisen discusses with officers in video conference
Bhopal, August 22, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): Farmer Welfare Minister Mr. Gaurishankar Bisen has said that strict action will be taken against officers for not cancelling registrations of sellers of substandard fertilisers-seeds. Mr. Bisen said this while reviewing the Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Schemes through video conference at Mantralaya today. He instructed the officials to undertake regular field visits to understand the actual status of schemes being implementation for the farmers.Commissioner, Agriculture Production, Mr. PC Meena and Principal Secretary Mr. Rajesh Rajora were present in the meeting. Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Bisen told the district officers that detail information to increase agriculture production should be provided to the farmers by agriculture experts in Kisan Sammelan to be held at district level in ensuing days. Efforts should be made to bring more and more farmers under insurance cover under Pradhanmantri Fasal Beema Yojana. Mr. Bisen asked the officials that payment of insurance claim should be ensured to all eligible farmers under Pradhanmantri Fasal Beema Yojana.
Discussion was held on Kharif crops in the meeting. District officials told that Kharif crops are in good condition in general. Farmers have been advised through agriculture scientists for pest control. So far, sowing has been done in 104 lakh 60 thousand hectare area in the kharif season. Main crop, Soybean has been sowed in 47 lakh 89 thousand hectares. Farmers have shown interest in Urad sowing. Moreover, Sowing of urad has been carried out in more than 17 lakh 79 thousand hectare areas in the state. Farmers have sown Moong in 2 lakh 22 thousand hectare areas. Cotton has been sown in 5 lakh 78 thousand hectare area.
