Bhopal, August 30, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): Union Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural and Urban Development Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar said at a Kisan Samman Samaroh organized in Gwalior on the occasion of Balram Jayanti and Kisan Divas that the chemical fertilisers were destroying fertility of soil in the fields. Hence farmers should adopt indigenous methods and focus on organic farming. MP Mr. Nandkishore Chouhan chaired the sammelan organized under the aegis of Nandlal Bal Kalyan Samiti. Mr. Tomar administered oath for building a new India under Sankalp se Siddhi to the farmers on the occasion. Mr. Tomar said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has included the resolve to double agricultural income by year 2022 in the ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ programme. Government has initiated several facilities and schemes for the welfare of farmers. He said that this target will be met only when the farmers come forward with dedication. National Vice-President of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Mr. Prabhakar Kelkar said that there is need to reduce farming cost. Both the Centre and state government have taken effective steps in this direction. He spoke about taking an initiative to encourage small industries in the villages. State Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Tapan Bhoumik, former MP and Morena Nagar Nigam Mayor Mr. Ashok Argal, MLA Mr. Ghanshyam Pironiya and Programme Coordinator and Former Chairman of Seed Corporation Mr. Mahendra Singh Yadav, Nagar Palika President Dabra Mrs. Arti Maurya, Mr. Lokendra Parashar and Mr. Nawab Singh Yadav were also present on the occasion.
Gau Palak Mr. Rajendra Singh Gurjar was honoured with Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Samman at this 11th Kisan Sammelan organized by the Nandlal Bal Kalyan Samiti. Similarly Kushabhau Thakre Samman was given to Bhitawar farmer Mr. Mahesh Kumar Jatav, Mukhya Mantri Kisan Kalyan Samman to Ghategaon farmer Mr. Brijesh Kirar and Vishisht Kisan Samman was given to Mrs. Bharibai.
