Mr. Arya announces at annual general meeting of fisheries federation
Bhopal, October 1, 2017 (Ataullah Faizan): Fishermen welfare and fisheries development minister Mr. Antar Singh Arya said that wage of Rs 17 per kg and Rs 28 per kg will be given to fisherman for fishing small fish and major fish respectively. Earlier, the fishermen used to get wage at the rate of Rs 15 and Rs 26 per kg. Mr. Arya announced this in the 21st annual general meeting of fisheries federation. Fisheries development minister Mr. Arya said that animal husbandry and fisheries industries will play important role in doubling income through agriculture by the year 2022 as per the wishes of the chief minister. He said that fisheries is an important part of farmers’ income. Effective efforts are being made to improve fishing production by the State government. Besides, livelihood support scheme for securing livelihood of fishermen’s families, incentive awards, scheme for providing fund for treatment of serious diseases, Mukhyamantri Minakshi Vivah Yojana for marriageable girl of members of active fisherman cooperative society working in water reservoirs under fisheries federation, education promotion and grants for boat and fishing net etc. are being executed. Director of fisheries federation Mr. OP Saxena gave information about priorities and next action plan. Managing director of fisheries federation Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhakar was present on the occasion.
