MoS Mr. Patwa inaugurates 6-day carnival at Gauhar Mahal

patwa1.1.18Bhopal, January 3, 2018 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture Mr. Surendra Patwa has said that the youth play a major role in the formation of Indian culture. The work of teaching students to make artwork at one place is commendable. Minister of State Mr. Patwa inaugurated the six-day cultural carnival organized by Tribal Museum and Setu India at Gauhar Mahal, Bhopal today. Mr. Patwa and special guest on the occasion former Mayor Mrs. Krishna Gaur reviewed the stalls at the exhibition. Terming the artwork displayed here as ‘significant’ they said that the effort to provide youth a platform to exhibit their art in paper craft, jute craft, Bhil art, Gond art, terracotta art, block printing, mandna art and wood carving for the first time has become fruitful. Mr. Patwa said stressed on the need to organize a district-level programme outside the capital to exhibit the unmatched artwork created by the artistes. Founding member of Setu India Ms. Tanushri Patwa, Ms. Shweta Ojha and Ms. Palak Bhandari said that the six-day carnival will comprise exhibition, story-telling, group discussion, workshops, food zone etc. under one roof.

Famous artist Mr. Sikander Malik will be present at the photography contest and heritage walk on the first two days. A large number of students and youth from Bhopal and other places have got themselves registered on the first day of the programme. Former Chief Minister Late. Mr. Sundarlal Patwa’s wife Mrs. Phoolkunwar Bai was also present during the programme.
